Shipping Policy

At Obsidian Inverts, the safety of our animals is our highest priority. All live animal shipments are packed carefully and shipped in accordance with weather and safety conditions.

Shipping Method
All live animals are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight.

Flat Rate Shipping: $50

This includes insulated packaging and heat or cold packs when necessary.

Shipping Days

Orders ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only.

We do not ship later in the week to prevent animals from being delayed over weekends.

Tracking information will be provided once your order has been dropped off with FedEx.

Weather & Safety Holds

We reserve the right to delay shipment if temperatures are unsafe along the shipping route.

Shipping may be postponed if:

  • Temperatures are excessively high or low

  • Severe weather is forecasted

  • FedEx service disruptions are expected

Your order will ship once safe conditions return.

Animal safety always comes first.

Hold at FedEx Location (Weather Requirement)
During periods of extreme heat or cold, we may require packages to be shipped Hold at FedEx Location for pickup.

This allows the package to remain inside a climate-controlled facility rather than on a delivery truck.

If required:

  • The buyer must pick up the package from the designated FedEx location

  • The package must be picked up the same day it is available

  • A valid ID will be required for pickup

Failure to pick up the package promptly may void the Live Arrival Guarantee.

Delivery Requirements
  • Someone must be present to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.

  • The shipping address must be entered correctly at checkout.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect address entry.

Failure to receive the package on the first delivery attempt may void the Live Arrival Guarantee.

Shipping Address Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing a correct and secure shipping address.

We are not responsible for:

  • Packages delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the buyer

  • Stolen packages after confirmed delivery

  • Delays caused by the carrier
